WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- A rocket attack in northern Iraq killed one U.S. contractor and wounded several other U.S. and Iraqi personnel on Friday, the U.S. military said.
"One U.S. civilian contractor was killed and several U.S. service members and Iraqi personnel were wounded in a rocket attack on an Iraqi military base in Kirkuk," the U.S. military said in a statement.
The statement did not provide an exact number of U.S. troops wounded in the attack.
About 30 rockets were fired in the attack on the military base, where U.S. service members were also based, local media reported.
